Volunteers took a break from their labours for a celebratory group photograph to commemorate the Museum being voted 'Best Small Attraction' in the Tourism in Suffolk Awards 2011 event. Winning two such important awards in successive years is a great encouragement to all. It was sponsored by Business Link & Archant}Suffolk.

The picture above was taken at Pleasurewood Hills where the Sunrise Coast Tourism Awards were presented by the chairman Bernard Reader (left), Joyce Aguss PR Lowestoft Maritime Museum, Denise Thompson and Vice Chairman of Lowestoft Maritime Museum, Jim Aguss.

Sunrise Coast Tourism Awards 2011 were judged against criteria requiring the applicants to submit how they had addressed issues including Tourism Experience, benefit to Local Economy, benefit to Local Community, Energy Efficiency, and Development of Local Tourism.
