2010 was a special year, we were honoured by the Princess Royal who formally unveiled a Plaque marking her visit and the Grand Re-Opening for the Summer;  the number of visitors soared past 7,300 including 179 overseas visitors from 29 different countries who signed the Visitors Book.

On December 14th it was announced that we had been awarded the  'Best Small Attraction' in the 'Sunrise Coast Tourism Awards 2010' sponsored by Lowestoft Journal; a great tribute to the hard work put in by all concerned. Wendy Mawer (left) from Waveney District Council presented the award to Peter Parker (Chair) and Joyce Aguss (PR), who are shown above  accepting it on behalf of Lowestoft Maritime Museum.

The Trophy is shown (right), and is another great tribute to the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers.

Peter Parker (Chair) and Carol Daines (Treasurer) are shown collecting the award on behalf of the museum.

Following our success in winning the ‘Best Small Attraction Award’ at the Sunrise Coast Tourism Awards ceremony in 2010, it was announced on September 29th 2011, that we had been awarded the ‘Best Small Attraction’ in the Tourism in Suffolk Awards for that year.
